I really doubt whether the US or NATO will actually do anything about Russia's de facto invasion of Ossetia, despite how much oil might be available in that province. The implications are that other countries that are former Soviet Union members should be worried. Russia can probably pick them off one at a time, and nobody will do anything other than issue statements of deep concern and stern warnings.
