Rondi got a perfect score on this quiz about news and current events. Not me. I missed two of the questions.
What amazed me, though, were the generally low averages for all the demographic groups. On average, college graduates missed 4.6 questions, and it went downhill from there. The worst averages were turned in by young adults (ages 18 -29) and by those with HS education or less.
Rondi was especially bothered by the low scores for women:
There's a little graph at the end that tells you results by gender -- I found it particularly dismaying. Why are women such dopes? A former sister-in-law of mine oft refers to the "never-ending stupidity of women". Now, when I have heard her use that phrase she is generally referring to women who date men who beat them, et cetera. But I think this qualifies as well.

I got 10/12. I missed the one where the correct answer was Reid and the one about Dow Jones. But, hey, this isn't my country.

I think I would not have done so well on one for Canadian news!

I got 12/12 but take no joy in that since I know all those people with appallingly low scores are going to vote their ignorance.

I was surprised to see my score at 12/12. I guessed at the number questions (or, maybe it was just that, somewhere, from deep down, I recalled hearing about the stock market -- not a subject of which I have much comprehension).
Pardon me while this college drop-out gloats.
:-)
Now, I just have to study international news a little more...
