Jack sent me this link to a photograph of the crowd during Obama's inauguration. His accompanying message was,
This is a photo from the 2009 Inauguration, In which you can see IN FOCUS The face of each individual in the crowd !!!
You can scan, double click and zoom to any section of the crowd. . . wait a few seconds. . . and the focus adjusts.
The picture was taken with a robotic camera at 1,474 megapixel. (295 times the standard 5 megapixel camera)
My first reaction was to be amazed, stunned, impressed. I could zoom in just about anywhere and see the facial features of a person. I could almost read the music of the French horn players in the band.
But then paranoia struck. This technology strikes me as perfect for a more intrusive, invasive, big-brother-type gubmnt.Given that the technology exists, there's no stopping it. But it also means we are potentially being watched during much of our lives.

And people wonder why I don't like the outdoors.... They think it has something to do with my hayfever.
