Perhaps this was an odd pilgrimage to make while I was in London last May:
Do you recognize the place? A clue is in the title of this posting.
The person who took the pictures with me in them had no idea why the building might be important for anyone. When I asked him, "You know why I want my picture taken here, don't you?" he replied, quite correctly, "because you're a tourist?"`
Answer below the fold.
As you can see in the third photo, the building is Florin Court. It is on Charterhouse Square, not far NE of Covent Garden Market in London, England. The reason I wanted my photo taken there is that the building is sometimes known as Whitehaven Mansions, where Hercule Poirot has his home and office in the television episodes of Agatha Christie's novels, starring David Suchet.

The name tag is a dead give-away!

On closer inspection, that may not be one of those "Hi, my name is..." name tags above your shirt pocket, but on a less close inspection, it sure looks like it!

I wondered what that was, since I knew it wasn't a nametag, so I went back to the original photo and zoomed in on it. It was just as much a giveaway that I was a tourist: a tube map.
