David Clayton-Thomas (a stage name!), lead singer of the hit group, Blood, Sweat, & Tears (most famous, probably, for its 1969 album) was on campus today, addressing a large group about evolution of music.
Before he arrived, I asked the students in one of my classes "How many of you have NEVER heard of David Clayton-Thomas?" About 80% of them raised their hands. WOW! I guess that shows how old I am.... and how old he is....
Update: Of the 250 students in my intro course, only about three said they knew who he was, and only about 30 or so had ever heard of Blood, Sweat, and Tears.
