For nearly two decades, four of us exchanged emails on a daily, if not hourly, basis. We referred to ourselves as "The Quartet" (as reported earlier, I received 57 messages from the group over one three day period that I kept track of). BenS organized us, but each of us made our own unique contributions: a sociologist, a pharmicist, a physician, and an economist.
We had a memorial/celebration get together today for BenS. People shared amazing stories of his adventures and misadventures. He was a provocateur, a social convener, a carer. The quartet will continue, but we are really going to miss him.
