After having been away from my laptop for several days, I just downloaded the e-mail that had accumulated. To see what was going on with the 177 messages I had received, I listed them by category:
- E-mail Lists: I received 69 messages from various e-mail lists including newspapers, blogs, and tonnes of administrivia from various universities.
- The Quartet: There are four of us (Jack, BenS, JB and me) who exchange links, thoughts, etc. frequently. There were 57 messages in this category.
- Theatre: There were five messages pertaining to mystery dinner theatre work.
- Spam and Phishing: 22 messages, 15 of which had been diverted to my junk file. Most of the other seven were from people asking me to flog things on this blog.
- Facebook: seven messages from various FB friends.
- Other: 17 messages from colleagues, friends, and family.
The time period was roughly from mid-afternoon January 1st to mid-afternoon January 4th.
It is probably time to unsubscribe from some of the e-mail lists. Too bad I can't unsubscribe from some of the university administrivia e-mail lists!
