I have set this post to appear on the blog while I am returning to my home in London, Ontario. I will, once again, feel some sadness about leaving Regina. I have a wonderful time every year that I visit here (this is the fourth year in a row that I have been here). I enjoy the support the Economics Department here provides me, and I truly love being able to spend time with the friends I have made here over the past few years, including Ms Eclectic's relatives and my friends in the Roughrider pepband, as well as those in the department.
Another thing I will miss are the scenic vistas as I walk along and around Wascana Lake, next to the university. We have gorgeous views and scenes where we live in London, as well, but I have never seen white pelicans there (or anywhere else, for that matter).
I have seen brown pelicans --- lots of them --- down along the Gulf of Mexico, and I was surprised to see any kind of pelican here.
