This article calls them "10 Easy Things", but if they were easy, more people would do them. Having been "there" myself at times, I know that these steps are NOT necessarily easy. But this list seems sensible. Here is the list, but check out the explanations in the article:
- Exercise. It doesn't have to be much.
- Get enough sleep. Easy to say, not so easy to do when you're depressed.
- Move closer to work -- a short commute is worth more than a big house.
- Spend time with family and friends
- Go outside -- "happiness is maximized at 13.9C" That's 57F, which sounds a tad cool to me.
- Help others
- Practice smiling
- Plan a trip, but don't take one. Huh? Read the full article to see what they mean.
- Meditate. I find this difficult.
- Practice gratitude. This one is a big one for me.
