Half a lifetime ago, I was in pretty bad shape mentally, emotionally, and financially, but I knew or at least believed I wouldn't be there for long.
One day I said to myself, "I still have at least half my life to live. I've spent the first half of my life growing up, learning, and struggling. Now I get to live the next half as an adult." It was a poignant moment in my life.
It turned out better than I expected. And I'm grateful.
