When grade 8 students play games and taunt Jewish students with "get in the oven", that's anti-Semitism, not just bullying.
Apologies. I omitted a link to the article. I'm not sure if this is the one, but there were several.Apparently, calling their team "Jew Incinerator" wasn't enough for this group of high achieving CPS [Chicago Public Schools] students. According to Clemente, these little geniuses wrote on the site, “Heil! Throw Jews into ovens for a cause.” They also wrote, “We are a friendly group of racists with one goal — put all Jews into an army camp until disposed of” and then concluded with that famous Nazi greeting, “Sieg! Heil!"
At least they're friendly racists.
What is worse, the response by CPS or the actions of the students? Pretty close, I'd say. They're just kids still so they can't entirely be held responsible for their actions. Albeit, they had to learn these concepts somewhere. Would that be from their "bullying" parents? Similarly, CPS officials don't seem to want to call the students' actions what they really are and have resorted to the safer, more socially acceptable excuse that the victim here was "bullied."
