We love our new Spiralizer (I wrote about it here a few days ago). The only thing we've used it for so far is to make "noodles" with zucchini and then have "spaghetti". The result is fabulous tasting and low-carb!
Here's the Spiralizer, set up with a partially skinned zucchini (the spiralizer uses suction cups to anchor itself to the counter and only "armstrong" power).
Just turn the crank and "noodles" come out.
Also, the "core" emerges from the centre hole of the machine:
We used three zucchini for this meal, leaving these cores and pieces that I cut up to add to the "noodles".
Here's the bowlful of noodles we got from those three zucchini:
And here is what the noodles looked like as Ms Eclectic fried 'em up in butter and heated up the tomato-mushroom-sausage sauce that she had prepared earlier:
While they were cooking, Ms Eclectic cut the noodles a bit to make them more manageable.
And here are the bowls of noodles and sauce. Mine is on the right. I decided to have a bit less sauce than Ms Eclectic.
The noodles made with zucchini and then fried up in butter taste wonderful. I see no reason why they couldn't be enjoyed also with a jar of Ragu Italian sauce.
Next for us, though, will likely be trying the Spiralator with eggplant.
