Carolle died at home this morning from a combination of congestive heart failure and renal failure. Last fall, it looked as if her health was improving, but it deteriorated during the winter.
Carolle was grateful for everything: every opportunity, every friend, every relative. She always said, “I’ve had a wonderful life!” And that's what she meant: she loved her life.
She was important in the lives of many people. For me, she was both challenging and caring, and she was strongly supportive of both me and my follies. Not a cheerleader, a strong supporter. We were married for nearly 40 years.
About a decade ago, Carolle wrote her own obituary. Here is the concluding paragraph:
There is no need to cry for me. Instead, please share my joy at having lived a life filled with wonderful family, wonderful friends, and many adventures. There will be a celebration of life at Harris Funeral Home in London, date and time to be announced. [UPDATE: 2-4 pm, Sunday, June 5th, Harris Funeral Home, London, ON]
Please no flowers – if you want to buy flowers, buy them for yourselves and for the people you love. And please no donations. Instead, please use the money for a nice evening out, and raise a glass to the good life.
Carolle Marie Trembley (Ms. Eclectic) Nov 08, 1940 – May 22, 2022
