DOUBT is a play about two nuns who suspect the priest at their school is sexually abusing one of the boys.
The priest is such a well-polished offender that he is able to make them doubt their suspicions.
Ms. Eclectic used to work with sex offenders. Everything in this play rings true and is consistent with all the things she told me and had me read. The Play was written by John Patrick Shanley and was very well done. Excellent staging, and fantastic acting.
Did I say fantastic acting? It really was!
Dan Curtis as Father Flynn could convince just about anyone of his innocence.
Nora Cuzzocrea as Sister Aloysius was superb as a stern, rules-oriented school principle.
Melony Menard as Sister James did a terrific job as the innocent nun who kept wavering.
And Sherine Thomas-Holder brought a tear to more than one eye with her performance as the boy's mother.
And I want to mention some of the others who contributed to this fantastic performance: Brian Speagle as director, Angela Gilker (stage manager), and Lisa DesGroseilliers (sound).
There are only three performances left. Click here for tickets.
