EclectEcon: Not Right-Wing Enough?

My friend, Rondi Adamson, has a blog that is listed 7th on a list of the top 15 right-wing blogs in Canada. EclectEcon didn't even make the list.

It's a good list --- check it out here.

It is difficult to be a right-wing blogger when one is a libertarian and vehemently opposes most social conservative policies.

Temporary Break

As regular readers of the EclectEcon have undoubtedly noticed, I'm taking a temporary break from blogging. I have a photo show to get ready to hang on Friday [Cherryhill Library in London, November 1 - December 2]. Also, after a three-year absence from acting, I am now working diligently to learn and develop the role of David Stafford in the Clinton Community Players' production of My Darling Judith by Norm Foster, November 28 - 30 (review of a performance by a different group here).

There are lots of things I want to write about, but I'm just not finding the time to do everything I want to do these days. I expect this break to last only a few days or so, but I really must concentrate on other things right now.

World's Oldest Blogger

Died today in Australia.

An Australian woman described as the world's oldest Internet blogger has died at the age of 108 after posting a final message about singing "a happy song" in her nursing home.                         

Olive Riley "passed away peacefully on July 12 and will be mourned by thousands of Internet friends and hundreds of descendants and other relatives," a note on her website said.

Riley had posted more than 70 entries on her blog from Woy Woy on the east coast since February last year, sharing her thoughts on modern life and her experiences living through the entire 20th century....

Welcome to the New Site for EclectEcon

When I moved the blog from Blogger several years ago, Chris at PowerBlogs was very helpful, and the folks at TypePad were not particularly helpful. The result was that I went to PowerBlogs.

Since then, however, the outages at PowerBlogs, combined with unanswered support questions and an awkward front end, left me pretty dissatisfied.

During the past month, I have experimented with TypePad and with Wordpress. I decided on TypePad because in they end they provided some assistance with moving the blog and because I was familiar with their front end from my blogging at The Western Standard. It has not been a smooth transition, though, and for someone who knows what they're doing, I can readily imagine that using the WordPress front end with a separate hosting service would be good, too.

For the next six months or so, I will be keeping the EclectEcon.com domain name affiliated with my PowerBlog site, in part because it was not possible to migrate the photos and images away from that site. The domain name for this site is

www.EclectEcon.net

There are still some wrinkles to be sorted out here, so I hope you will be patient as I work through them. Meanwhile thanks for reading the blog, and thanks for coming to this site to keep up with it.

Blog Migration to TypePad?

For various reasons, I have been considering moving this blog to a different site. If I do, I will explain more in the future. Meanwhile, I would appreciate feedback on this version of the blog, hosted at TypePad. How does it look? Is it easy to use? Etc.
